Karaköy Meyhane
A 110-seat meyhane on the floor of a historic han: timber, copper and warm light.
In an old han floor, we designed a 110-seat meyhane. Stone walls and vaults were preserved, and oak tables, a copper extraction hood and hand-made ceramic sconces were added.
Kitchen and service
The distance between open kitchen, bar and dining room was kept under 9 metres. Anti-slip ceramic was used on floors and HACCP-compliant stainless steel in the kitchen.
Acoustics
Echo from the stone surfaces was reduced to 68 dB with concealed acoustic ceiling panels and a curtain system.
